How to firm and tighten your skin

How to firm and tighten your skin

How to firm and tighten your skin naturally

Take a look at How to firm and tighten your skinHow to firm and tighten your skin

Today’s blog is about finding out How to firm and tighten your skin the natural way.
As we get older our skin loses its elasticity and it can also happen as a result of spending too much time in the sun, rapid weight loss and smoking. You might think that the only way to firm and tighten skin is to have surgery but there are some natural ways that cost a lot less and are a lot less risky. While these natural methods may take more time than surgery to get results and the results won’t be as dramatic, they do work. More importantly, if you use natural methods to tighten your skin, it will look natural.
Drink water– Water is absolutely vital for keeping skin soft and firm. If you don’t drink enough water, like many other people then the first thing you should try is drinking more water. To have any effect on your skin, you need to be drinking about two litres of water every day or your skin will become dehydrated and that will make any loose skin more obvious.
Do not eat junk food– The condition of your skin is affected by what you eat as well.   Stay away from junk, greasy and fatty foods. They contain so many artificial additives that they are bound to be harming your skin.  They can actually make your skin lifeless and saggy.
Do eat raw fruit & vegetables-  Make sure you include plenty of healthy food into your diet. A varied diet that includes plenty of fruit and vegetables will provide a major boost for your skin. Fresh fruit and veg contain anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals.  These have wrinkle fighting powers and they also have a very high water content, which will hydrate your skin further, making it firmer and plumper.
Moisturise daily- Make daily moisturising part of your skincare routine to keep your skin firm. It doesn’t necessarily even have to be an anti-ageing moisturiser that you use, just a simple, natural, moisturiser will still help to retain your skin’s elasticity. It is just as important to keep your skin hydrated on the outside as it is the inside.
Eat lots of protein-  Include some more protein into your diet. Your body needs protein to build muscles and to produce collagen and elastin in the skin. Try to make sure that you have protein with every meal. Protein will help to build muscles, which will stretch out the skin and make it look firmer and it will also help to nourish the skin, so that it produces the collagen that will make it more elastic.
We will look at some more ways of How to firm and tighten your skin next week.

What causes hang nails?

Today we are looking at What causes hang nails?

What causes hang nails? And how do you get rid of them?

You may have  notice that you get more hangnails during the winter months. But What causes hang nails?
Most people will stuffer at some point during the winter, with dry skin, This is one of the  main causes of hangnails. But anything that can dry out your skin, such as cold winter weather, harsh chemicals or frequent immersion in water can cause hangnails.
If you are a nail biter,  you are also  more likely to  get more hangnails than your someone who does not bite their nails  this is because biting your nails can cause the nail bed to become weak. If hangnails that aren’t properly removed can result in an infection called paronychia. There are three types of paronychia infection: bacterial, Candidal which is a type of yeast and fungal  An infection in the skin around your fingernail can be red, swollen and painful, and it may even emit pus.
As you may know, it’s  easy to get hangnails.  But it is also easy to  prevent getting them in the first place.
One quick and easy preventative measure you can take is to moisturize your hands. If you are prone to hangnails, try applying a lotion or hand crème to your nail beds two to three times a day. as moisturising your nail beds helps your nails and your cuticles  this simple step can have a big impact on your overall nail health.
Regularly caring for your nails can go a long way towards preventing hangnails. If you give yourself regular manicures, be careful not to cut your cuticles. Cut your nails straight across and finish off by gently filing the ends to achieve a slightly rounded corner. A short soak in cuticle soak, which is standard practice for most manicurists, can help moisturize the nail bed, and prevent hangnails.
If you discover you have a hanged nail, the first thing you should do is try to soften it; cutting a dry hangnail can lead to additional skin tearing and start a vicious hangnail cycle. Begin by soaking your finger or fingers in warm water for a few minutes. Then clip the hangnail with cuticle scissors to prevent jagged edges that might tear. After clipping the hangnail, massage some lotion into the nail bed, continue to do this a few times a day until the hangnail has healed
By looking after your nails correctly will prevent you getting hanged nails in the first place . We hope this has helped you understand What causes hang nails?
