How to find the best mascara for you which hopefully will take the pain out of  which type of mascara you should be buying.

With  the sheer and amount of mascaras on the market it isn’t  surprising that we get confused on what one we actually need as to buying the latest one on the market. There are volumizing, thickening and lengthening formulas; bristle, plastic, curved, and straight wands; ones that declump, ones that purportedly help your lashes grow longer–there are even mascaras that vibrate. But with so many options on the table, how does we begin to choose the right mascara.

So how do you choose a mascara that’s natural but can be glammed up when you want it? We have done some research and this is what we found out.

Lets start with the brush.

Is there any real difference to having a bristle  brush or a moulded plastic brush ? – Neither one is better than the other it really depends on the formula of the mascara as to which one work will work best. Mascaras that claim to be curling often have curved brushes, and lengthening brushes tend to be straight and narrow with more widely spaced, almost comb-like bristles. For volume, look for thicker brushes with denser bristles. In general, brushes with shorter bristles are easier to control.

Do curling mascaras really work?  –  well the simple truth is  no not really. You just have to manage your expectations about ‘curling’ mascara  realistically it can’t do the same thing  that a a lash curler could. so we wouldn’t bother too much  type too much, with ones that claim to make your lashes curly.

Vitamin C is also good for hair growth.There are lots of guides on the internet with lists of foods that you can eat to make your hair grow, write yourself a list and try to add some of these simple and healthy things into your diet.

Sleep In A Hair Treatment – sleeping in a hair treatment helps hair grow a lot. When buying hair masks only pick ones that say to leave in for at least 10 minutes as good  good hair masks should be left on the hair for at least 10 minutes for them to really help hydrate  your hair.  One type to look out for is  argan or macadamia masks as they really work wonders for the hair.

Don’t Over Colour/Process Your Hair – you will see a massive  difference in how fast your hair grows if you leave your colour top up a little  longer. Try switching to semi permanent colour  as this is least damaging to your hair if you normally do a full head of colour.

Get Your Hair Cut –  you may think this is the last thing you want to so, but  if you want your hair to be healthy by  getting it cut regularly, you will prevent it from splitting at the ends and snapping off, resulting in stronger and longer hair.

Hair Growth Takes Time – Be patient with all of this, hair growth doesn’t happen over night, be patient and you will see the rewards.

(your going to get some shedding) then maybe you need to be a little more  being gentle when brushing the hair.  It is advised  to start brushing the hair from the bottom, this de-knots the ends and gradually move  further up the hair. Why not try using a paddle brush as it covers a wider area and the bristles are usually gentler on the hair.

Don’t over do the products –   too many products, is actually bad for your hair, its knowing what products will help your hair grow and what won’t. There isn’t a miracle hair product that will make your hair grow over night unfortunately, but there are a number of products on the market that strengthen the hair which leads to hair growth. Think of your hair like a garden, you need nice, well looked after soil makes plants grow. You scalp needs to be looked after. One of the products that is highly recommended is  Macadamia oil when it comes to hair growth. But coconut oil and organ oil are also good choices.

Let Your Hair Get Dirty – It’s common knowledge not to wash your hair too much. It’s really bad for hair growth, washing your hair excessively gets rid of the natural oils which help it grow, so let your hair get dirty. If you know you’re not doing anything, leave your hair another day before washing it.

We know there are many ways to to get the smokey eye look but today we are looking at how to do Smokey eyes using sellotape .

Smokey eyes can be a bit daunting if you’re not confident with makeup.  Today we are looking at a slightly different method using sellotape which is a really easy way to create a strong and symmetrical smokey eye, without making a mess!

1. Apply primer to your eye lids and fill in your brows.

2. Pop your tape on! Make sure it is in the same place on each eye otherwise your makeup will be wonky.

3. If you’re wanting a dark look, use an eyepencil to fill in your lid and across your lashline, then blend with your brush, this will also help guide you when you place your eyeshadow.

4. Apply a dark eyeshadow over your eyeliner to set it, then blend. When using tape, it does  not matter if you end up blending too far out, the tape stops your eyeshadow going anywhere it shouldn’t!

5. You can  add another colour if you so wish blend the eyeshadow though the crease. You can use whatever and however many colours you like, as long as you blend them properly.

6. Apply eyeliner gel eyeliner blends better and gives a softer effect using sellotape which helps to create a flick.

7. Remove your tape. Carefully! It sticks quite well so don’t whip it off, I did, and had to take recovery time!

8. Soften the harsh line created by the tape with a foundation brush.

9. Add eyeliner under your eye. Use an angle brush and the colours you used on your eyelid, really focusing on darkening the outer corner.

10. Add  mascara and you’re good to go!

A smokey eye like this works really well with lots of contouring  and blending remember dramatic eyes only works when the lips are neutral.

STEP 1
Take an inch-long piece of Scotch tape and press it to your hand a few times to remove some of its adhesive power. This will help it from sticking too severely to your delicate eye area.
STEP 2
Place the tape underneath your bottom lashes at the outer corner of your eye and angle it towards your temple. Making sure not to angle the tape towards the end of your brow, otherwise your wing can take on more of an Amy Winehouse-esque hooked appearance. Unless of course thats the look your after.
STEP 3
Start at the middle of your upper lash line, which is where the liquid line should begin to thicken. Draw a stripe to the outer corner of your eye using short, dash-like strokes, you can if you prefer use a felt-tip eyeliner pen.
Be sure to place your pinkie finger against your cheek for added stability and control.
STEP 4
Using the tape like a straight-edged ruler, continue drawing your line along the tape past the outer corner making sure the liner gradually gets thinner and thinner as you draw the line.
STEP 5
Remove the tape and proudly revel in your perfect winged eyeliner
