Anti aging skin care ingredients

Anti aging skin care ingredients and what they do

Anti aging skin care ingredients

Let’s see what we can find out about Anti aging skin care ingredients and what they do

Today we are going to look at Anti aging skin care ingredientsand what they do.  We often see celebrities appear across our screens advertising the new “breakthrough” in anti aging skin care and her skin looks flawless and there is always some gimmick that sets this one apart from the hundreds of other skin care products out there. The next thing you know, you’re buying the product only to have it sit under your sink along with the other eye creams you got suckered into buying.
So here we are looking at what goes into the products and which ones are actually worth looking out for.
AHA and BHA: Smoothes the skin.
AHAs are best for normal-to-dry or sun-damaged skin because they help bind moisture and improve healthy collagen production and smooth an uneven skin texture. BHA is best for normal-to-oily or skin prone to breakouts while also being excellent for reducing redness from rosacea.
Retinol:
Retinol helps skin cells create better, healthier skin cells while increasing the amount of skin-support substances and has been shown to increase the skin’s collagen production and glycosaminoglycans content, resulting in firmer skin with an improved texture and enhanced barrier function.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C has been shown to increase collagen production (including dermal collagen, which is significant for wrinkle reduction), reduce the appearance of skin discolorations, strengthen skin’s barrier response, enhance skin’s repair process, reduce inflammation and help skin better withstand exposure to sunlight, whether protected by sunscreen or not.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E works in several different ways which include helping to protect cell membranes from oxidative damage and preventing collagen from being destroyed. It also works in powerful synergy with vitamin C. Vitamin E on an ingredient label may be listed as tocopheryl acetate, tocopheryl linoleate, tocotrienols, alpha tocopherol and tocopheryl succinate.
Soy isoflavones/ extract
Soy and its components have an amazing amount of research showing them to be powerful antioxidants that are extremely beneficial for skin. Studies show that these derivatives inhibit environmental damage, reduce irritation, improve skin texture, build collagen and fight sun damage.
Niacinamide
This component of vitamin B3 has been shown to increase ceramide and free fatty acid levels in skin, prevent skin from losing water content and stimulate microcirculation in the dermis. It also has a growing reputation for being able to lighten skin discolorations and reduce acne.
Green tea
The antioxidant components in green tea work to reduce inflammation, build collagen and reduce cell damage by impeding the harmful effects of sun exposure. EGCG, when found in cosmetics, is a more stable way to get the  antioxidant benefit on skin.
Resveratrol
Like any antioxidant, resveratrol has incredible protective benefits for skin. When applied topically, resveratrol protects against sun damage, improves collagen synthesis and reduces cell damage. It is a stable, potent antioxidant worth finding in a skin care product.
Grape seed
This antioxidant significantly reduces free-radical damage combining it with other antioxidants greatly enhances its efficacy. It also has wound healing properties and is a top ingredient for fighting those wrinkles.
Curcuminoids
It is found in the spice tumeric and has potent anti-inflammatory properties, both internally and externally. It also works to suppress excess melanin production in the presence of sunlight and will help chronic inflammation, irritation and sun damage that causes skin to look older and become less able to repair itself.
Ceramides
They make up about 20 percent of the skin’s intercellular matrix, the ‘glue’ that holds skin cells together, which helps skin maintain its appearance and at the same time protecting it. When your skin suffers from sun damage, a dry environment or irritating skin care products, ceramides decrease, leaving the skin vulnerable.  Replenishing the skin’s ceramide content is a powerful way to protect skin, helping it act and look younger.
These are just some of the many effective Anti aging skin care ingredients to look out for, let us know your opinion on any of these.

Fingernails whats normal and whats not

Fingernails whats normal and whats not

When you look at your Fingernails whats normal and whats not do you know?

We are going to look at Fingernails whats normal and whats not.

A question we get asked a lot is how can you tell on Fingernails whats normal and whats not? Really the answer is simple  first you have to understand what nails are; your fingernails are made up of laminated layers of a protein called keratin and grow from the area at the base of the nail under your cuticle. As new cells grow, older cells become hard and compacted and are eventually pushed out toward your fingertips. Creating what we call the free edge(the white bit you file)
Nails are strong yet surprisingly  delicate. , as well as being vulnerable to abuse, and mistreated, nails are  effected by strong detergents, at the mercy of germs, bacteria and fungus. Nails, reflect our Physiological and Psychological condition, by their very own appearance and condition!
Most of us have used our nails as tools to open some thing or poke, peel ect without thinking of the  damage we might impose on our nails. But how much damage it causes depends on our own physical health as well amongst other things. Healthy fingernails are smooth, without pits or grooves, they are uniform in colour and consistency and free of spots or discolouration. Fingernails often develop harmless vertical ridges that run from the cuticle to the tip of the nail, these vertical ridges tend to become more prominent with age. Fingernails can also develop white lines or spots due to injury, but these eventually grow out with the nail.
Not all nail conditions are normal, some need treating  these  won’t necessarily cause any real problems  if they are treated. However consult your G.P if you are concerned about an sudden change in your nails as a sudden change can indicate other health issues.
Here are some nail contraindications to look out for:
Changes in nail color, such as discoloration of the entire nail or a dark streak under the nail
Changes in nail shape, such as curled nails
Thinning or thickening of the nails
Separation of the nail from the surrounding skin
Bleeding around the nails
Redness, swelling or pain around the nails
WE hope this has answered the question about Fingernails whats normal and whats not.

Advanced anti aging for hands

Today we are looking at Advanced anti aging for hands

Advanced anti aging for hands

After yesterdays blog we now move onto Advanced anti aging for hands

Following on from our blog yesterday we are now looking at Advanced anti aging for hands.

Medical Fillers for Hands

Experts say that results can last from one to two years which is longer than in the face because the back of the hand has fewer muscles and less muscle activity capable of breaking down the filler.  There is also evidence that the injections stimulate the body’s own production of collagen and elastin, so as time goes on you may need less filler less often to maintain the youthful look.
The Risks of Medical Fillers: there is a risk of tiny lumps of filler and skin that form under the skin and that require surgery to remove, but there have been no reported cases of this. Also African-Americans or others who may have a tendency toward the formation of scar tissue or keloid scarring should only under use medical fillers under the care of someone experienced in treating ethnic skin.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

For people that do not like needles or who want to amp up the impact of their filler treatments, experts say a few zaps from the new fractional laser skin resurfacing tool can do the trick.
Unlike laser treatments in the past that caused deep wounding and long recovery time, the new lasers create miniscule pinholes in the skin that inspire your body to begin producing its own collagen and elastin, without scarring, redness, or recovery time.
You get the benefits of resurfacing as its still the best way to remove wrinkles but without the down time and complication rate.
By stimulating new collagen and elastin to grow, the treatments restore the skin’s underlying support structure, making wrinkles disappear and within several weeks you replace some of the firm, tight look of youthful skin.
An added bonus is that laser treatments help re-texture the skin itself, so your hands look younger and fresher almost instantly.
Your new collagen and elastin are permanent, but since the aging process and sun exposure continue to break them down, lasting effects vary but with good care and judicious use of sunscreen, you could see the improvement up to five years or more.
The Risks of Laser Skin Resurfacing: The most common risk is temporary acne breakouts or local recurrences of the herpes simplex virus. Patients with darker skin were at greater risk for temporary inflammatory hyperpigmentation.  It has also been reported that there is a small risk of scarring.
Before having any treatment such as the ones mentioned above always be sure to research the clinic and the dermatologist.

Anti aging for hands

Today we are looking at Anti aging for hands

Here are some tips on Anti aging for handsAnti aging for hands

In today’s blog we are looking at Anti aging for hands and a few different ways in which to achieve younger looking hands.
Hands not only are susceptible to the first signs of aging, but very often age even faster than the face this is because the skin on the back of the hand is much thinner than that on your face. And can be even worst if you have to apply a steroid cream to them because you have eczema.
But how can we slow down this process?
If you’re like many women, your at-home hand care is limited to using dishwashing detergent with moisturizer and maybe a cheap hand cream now and then. But experts say with just a bit more effort, you can improve the appearance of your hands right now not just in 20 years from now, which may well be too late.
So here are some tips to help:
Try to protect your hands from direct sunlight. The next best thing is to coat your hands with a good sunscreen several times a day.
Aim at least for daily use of a simple moisturizer. That alone will improve the appearance of your hands.
While a moisturizer won’t reverse sun damage or create new collagen, it can leave skin looking plumper and more youthful. Some of the ingredients in these products include shea butter, macadamia nut oil, olive oil, vitamin E, and glycerin. Since all moisturizers work more effectively when applied to skin that is slightly damp, use them after a shower or bath or after washing your hands.
Pamper your hands once in a while by having a heated paraffin wax hand treatment. This coats the skin, offering a form of protection you don’t ordinarily get from a cream.
There are more intense ways to achieve younger looking hands such as medical fillers and laser skin resurfacing, we are going to be looking at these on tomorrows blog.
So there are a few ways to keep your hands looking younger and we will continue to look at Anti aging for hands tomorrow.

90s makeup

90s makeup

90s makeup  bought on a change in how and why women wore make up

90s makeup was more about empowerment than just looking pretty

90s makeup -  women began wearing makeup not with the simplistic goal of looking pretty, but rather as a means of self-expression and empowerment.  They also didn’t  want to be told how when or if they should wear make up by  cosmetic companies  or  telling told  they wouldn’t be beautiful  if they didn’t wear  makeup.Wearing makeup  should be their decision alone and there’s alone.
The 90′s saw  three make trudes at the same time; Grudge,Gothic and Nude, all made a statement in there own way make followed not just the movie stars but more the pop stars then ever before,
Grunge  – look saw women  with heavy smokey eye make up in colours  of blacks and greys, they wore no blush an wore nude lip shades.
Gothic - make up still saw the  use of heavy black eye liner and mascara, but  dark  blood reds and purples around the eyes and on the lips.  Eye brows  were drawn on heavy and quite often black and  the skin  was whitened to enhance the look  of intense  brooding eyes. The look was very similar to the 1920′s or certainly it had a heavy influence.
Nude - The natural, matte makeup look became popular during the mid 90s.  When  women finally went back to 90s makeupusing  brown-tones, light pinks, and matte makeup. Women tried to perfect the natural look., the no-makeup look was achieved with a minimal use of makeup. they still used mascara and eye liner  but very sparely and eye brows where thicker giving a more naturally beautiful look.
We have nearly come up to date with make up  through the ages and we hope you have enjoyed learning  all about the 90s makeup
