Which one is right for you BB cream v CC cream
BB cream v CC cream lets put them to the test
When BB creams appeared on the market we were impressed but then came along CC creams so which one is the best one for you?
BB creams (beauty or blemish balm) was originally meant to be an all-in-one product, instead of spending five minutes applying your serum, moisturiser, primer, foundation and sunblock, you could just apply BB cream. Most BB creams tackle additional jobs such as shine protection and also work on covering up some of those imperfections such as acne scars and discoloration. As they also contain moisturiser, serum and sunblock, you have the added protection for your skin from the sun along with anti-aging properties.
If you’ve used BB creams before, you will already know that it goes on as smoothly as a tinted moisturiser. Just the same as foundation, there are different shades available but not as many as you may be used to, you will normally find the following shades available, Fair-light, light-medium and medium-deep. BB creams work best on normal skin that doesn’t require a lot of coverage.
CC cream (colour or complexion correcting) is similar to BB cream however it is a little heavier on anti-aging, helping with uneven skin tone, age spots, wrinkles and other simple skin issues. Just like BB cream, CC cream contains moisturiser, sunscreen and has the same amount of tint with the usual choices in fair-light, light-medium and medium-deep. Quite often the SPF on CC creams will be higher than in BB creams in an effort to help prevent additional skin problems caused by the sun.
CC creams are best for skin with minor skin issues as it really tries to focus on fixing those problems. It works great as a base for foundation as it has a matte texture. It is a less oily alternative to the BB cream and can often give the illusion of brighter skin and even diminish the look of discolouration. The CC cream is a great addition to your makeup regime because of its multi-purpose use.
Remember that there is no uniform formula when it comes to choosing your favorite BB cream or CC cream so you may need to choose on a bit of a trial and error basis. Deciding between the two creams can be difficult but start with deciding which type of coverage you need the most, if you’re looking for more of a natural look and are happiest with a quick make-up routine then maybe the BB cream is best for you. If you fall into the category of needing a little more coverage and often rely on moisturisers that also combat skin discoloration and age spots, then the CC creams will be your best bet.
BB cream v CC cream, now we will leave you to decide which is best for you.
