How to get the perfect tan

How to get that perfect tan!

Its party season again, and although we had a great summer unless you have been on holiday recently or visited a tanning salon you are probably starting to look a bit pale and and wish it was sunny and hot again however we live in England and the sun being warm this time of year is unlikely and what is even more unlikely is you getting a tan. So you are probably going to reach for that bottle self tan or go and have a spray tan.
We at Beauty Secrets  are going to tell you the top tips for your tan  to be perfect and people asking you if you have been on holiday.
  • Before you have your spray tanning,ex foliate your body before the application. This is easily accomplished by rubbing a damp cloth or ex foliating puff firmly over your skin when showering. Pay attention to rough skin areas like knees, elbows, ankles and the tops of your feet.
  • Do not apply moisturiser to your skin at this stage as doing this will reduce the final result. We also recommend that you don’t wear any make-up.  If you are at home you can get away with being naked to apply a self tan, we don’t recommend this if you are going to a salon though you may get a arrested,  we suggest a bikini for women and dark shorts or swimmers for men.

Self Tanning

  • If you are self tanning make sure you apply the tan with either a tanning mitt on gloves on or you will have bright orange palms, and stand on a dark or old towel to protect your soles of your feet.
  • The best self tan to use is a spray as it covers a wider area and providing you don’t apply like you painting a fence it should be streak free make sure you still rub it in otherwise it can be uneven and patchy, Make sure you don’t spray to close  as it can run particularly  on areas where there is hair if you notice a drip wipe it away as soon as possible  to avoid any drip lines.
  • If you are using a cream divide your body into 4 and apply the product to each part completely so you  achieve an even tan.
  • Don’t forget when you applying to your face to include your neck and ears and always apply with upward strokes and blend otherwise it will look like you are wearing a mask.
Once the self tan /Spray tan has been applied , you must allow it to dry completely do not wet your skin for at least 5 hours after the tanning session.unless the colour is getting too dark .Showering the following morning is the best option. We also recommend that you do not exercise or perspire excessively between the tanning and the showering phase. When showering don’t be concerned if some of the initial bronzer washes off – this is part of the tanning process, and your skin will continue to tan.
Apply moisturiser twice daily after showering. This reduces the rate at which your skin ex foliates and will keep your tan looking better for longer.Other considerations in maintaining your tan are to avoid long baths, hot spas and extended swimming sessions. Shorter sessions are preferable. Also avoid products designed to ex foliate your skin. as this will reduce  the  live of your tan.
If you have used self tan do not be tempted apply more self tan as this is where a tan starts to look fake , uneven and even orange, wait until and has all sloughed off  and  then reapply after exfoilating.
If you  like people are rubbish at applying self tan go to a salon, and let someone else do it like B Beautiful 4 U Ltd they currently have an offer on there website which can be booked on line or by phone for  a Spray Tan and  Flair lashes for £40 ( normally £59) http://bbeautiful4u.co.uk/offers/
