When is the right time consider cosmetic surgery?

When is the right time consider cosmetic surgery? When is the right time consider cosmetic surgery?

Have you have wondered When is the right time consider cosmetic surgery?

Today  we are going to look at When is the right time consider cosmetic surgery?

If you have ever wonder When is the right time consider cosmetic surgery? but decided that perhaps you are too young  or too old then read on.
In the world of beauty nothing seems to stir up as much controversy as the topic of cosmetic surgery.  This mainly due celebrities who have distorted their faces  by having too much cosmetic surgery  and end up  looking like a caricature of their former selves. This prevent many from having it done  as they fear that they too would end up look very strange.
So should we just give in and grow old gracefully?
Many think we should forget cosmetic surgery or  any plastic procedures and instead age as healthfully and gracefully as we can.  Which there is nothing wrong with that way of thinking, but ageing gracefully seems somewhat contradictory to what actually happens as you get older. Think about what the sun does to your skin and damage it causes over time to your face and body. So any natural  result  is anything but graceful.  So although  cosmetic surgery not something that we should casually accept as inevitable, but of course, that’s a decision each of has to make for ourselves.
Cosmetic surgery is a personal choice, and it’s not for everyone. But, whether you’re pro- or anti-cosmetic surgery, the truth is that cosmetic surgery, along with  other cosmetic treatments, such as lasers, skin peels, Botox, and fillers, are the only ways to truly rejuvenate your appearance after the age of 50 (or before that, depending on the amount of sun damage you have). Of course good skin care plays an important role, but some signs of aging, such as sagging and undereye bags, cannot be fixed by skin care alone. Even the best skin-care routines and products have limitations, but there is no question that after a certain time, the combination of a looking after your skin with a good skin care routine coupled with surgical or corrective procedures is the best solution to looking younger, longer.
When is the right time consider cosmetic surgery?

You could consider putting off  cosmetic surgery until you really need it, but when you still look great might be the best time to consider having cosmetic surgery. Perhaps waiting until your skin is hanging loosely from your jaw, your neck is waddling, or your wrinkles are lying in folds like drapes certainly isn’t the ideal time to book that surgeon.
One key factor in having a procedure done sooner rather than later is that it’s safer to have surgery, when you are younger rather when you are older.  To begging with your skin and your body are better able to heal  quicker when you are younger. The older you get, the longer it takes for the skin to repair and heal itself. Having cosmetic surgery sooner rather than later also is less dramatic and will look more natural, as opposed to when you already look older and people have become used to seeing your older  you.
Important factors to take into consideration when considering cosmetic surgery.
The decision to have cosmetic surgery shouldn’t be made lightly, and  should never be a result of some emotional upheaval in your life, such as an affair or divorce; those are not the reasons, and should not be the time, when you decide to go under the knife. And you certainly should not make that decision just because you have a desire to get the latest celebrity’s “it” body part. Here’s what you really need to think through before you make the decision to have something done:
What are your expectations? -If you expect cosmetic surgery to turn you into a model or a sexier version of yourself at 40,  As you may find  that you will be disappointed.People who had the greatest satisfaction after cosmetic surgery are the ones who kept their expectations realistic—and didn’t expect their new face lift, to magically transform every aspect of their life. They also did it for themselves, rather than to please someone else.
Can you afford it? Cosmetic surgery is rarely covered by health insurance plans. There are exceptions, such as breast reductions to ease persistent back pain or eye tucks where the flap of the upper eyelid has sagged to the point of blocking vision, but that’s about it. If not is it worth the unhappiness it will cause in the long run if it puts  you in financial hardship?
Don’t look for  a bargain - as you may get more than you bargained for. Take your time! The good and the bad news is that there are dozens and dozens of reputable, talented cosmetic surgeons.  bUt there are equally  a number of bad ones who have slipped through the net reach and check medical qualifications we’ve also seen what can happen when surgery goes wrong don’t let it be you.
So the answer to the question  to When is the right time consider cosmetic surgery? Is when you are prepared to research for a good surgeon and your expectations realistic.

Stem cell cosmetics

What are Stem cell cosmetics ?

Stem cell cosmetics

Today we are going to look into Stem cell cosmetics

Well there are many weird and what some may say insane beauty treatments out there but is Stem cell cosmetics one of them, we are going to find out.
The use of stem cells in medical treatments remains highly controversial, with detractors claiming their use is “playing God”.
Stem cells which occur in living organisms (including the human body) are different from other cells for two reasons. One, they are capable of renewing themselves and two, under certain conditions, they can be induced to become cells that serve specific functions for the organism. They’re important because of their regenerative properties, stem cells offer a new way to treat certain diseases, and are often used in labs for screening new drugs and other biological research.
The basics of it is that stem cells can transform into any other cell, and are used to make repairs on the body. The only stem cell treatment approved is a bone marrow transplant in the instance of leukemia but that hasn’t stopped many patients from seeking cutting-edge plastic surgeries, which the cells are drawn from the body using liposuction and then re-injected into the face, to repair wrinkles. Unfortunately, the procedure is in its infancy, and there is no way to predict exactly how the cells will behave.
The idea behind stem cells in skin care is that by applying them topically, we might stimulate the growth of more stem cells and as they can regenerate, they’ll keep our skin looking youthful and healthy. Most stem cells used in beauty products are derived from plants.
It is unknown if the stem cells work in skin care products, it is said that they can stimulate cell turnover and boost collagen but there is no hard evidence of this as yet.
Until there is any proven facts of  Stem cell cosmetics working and being safe I would stick to what you know.

What causes brown spots?

We are going to be looking at What causes brown spots?

What causes brown spots?

What causes brown spots? And you can avoid getting them.

So What causes brown spots? As its not down to just  to old age, this also  happens when our skin produces either too much or too little melanin. Melanin is the pigment in skin produced by specific cells (melanocytes). It is triggered by an enzyme called tyrosinase, which creates the colour of our skin, eyes, and hair. This  over  melanin production is primarily caused by chronic unprotected sun exposure or hormones (particularly during pregnancy or from taking birth control pills).
Melanin  is designed to provide sun protection by absorbing the sun’s ultraviolet light, this explains why darker skinned people are less susceptible to sunburn and the overall effects of sun damage. But less susceptible doesn’t mean immune from problems.
The first thing  to do to prevent or repair the skin of  brown spots is without question being smart when it comes to the sun which means avoiding or at the very least being careful when exposed to it and make sure you use sun protection daily(365 days a year) and be liberal with application and also do not forget to re apply often enough. Diligent use of a sunscreen alone allows some repair as well as protection from further sun damage, which is what created the problem in the first place.
Nothing else will help or prevent brown spots the same as protecting your skin from the sun will as sun exposure is one of the primary causes of the skin discoloration disorder melasma, and other treatments can’t keep up with the sun’s daily assault on the skin.
However you can still try other methods to help with skin discolouration which there are a few options, one to consider as it is very successful is to use a combination of topical lotions or gels containing melanin-inhibiting ingredients along with a well-formulated sunscreen, and a prescription retinoid (such as Renova or generic versions containing tretinoin, a type of retinoid). Depending on how the skin responds to these treatments, exfoliants, care products or chemical peels done by a therapist or lasers or intense pulsed light treatments can definitely enhance results.
What causes brown spots? we hope you have found our blog interesting.

Vampire Facelifts

Vampire FaceliftsToday we are going to look at Vampire Facelifts

Today we are carrying on with looking at extreme non surgical facials today topic is Vampire Facelifts

In this anti-aging age, perhaps it’s unsurprising that you can now have  a Vampire Facelifts considering  ancient, vampires are known to be associated with being forever-young.  In fact,  a vampire facelift is  not plastic  surgery, but is simply an unseal facial procedure that entails having blood drawn from your arm, then spun in a centrifuge to separate out the platelets. They are then injected into your face, which should stimulate new collagen production.  The correct name for this treatment is Selphyl, it arrived as a rejuvenation treatment  in 2009, and is now used by roughly 300 doctors nationwide in the name of beauty.
The vampire face-lift has been promoted  a lot over the last 18 months  through the media, some of which presented unproved claims that results will last two years. As ghoulish as the procedure sounds, some patients prefer the idea of using their own blood rather than a neurotoxin or synthetic filler to rejuvenate their face.
How long the effects of the vampire facelift lasts is unclear, as there is no medical proof  that it can last for two years. although a  Dr. Sclafani, who has injected roughly 150 patients, wrote in an e-mail that Selphyl can correct early signs of ageing like crow’s feet, loss of facial volume and under-eye hollows, you have to seriously want to look younger no matter what the cost to have this done. We are sure that like all of these types of  extreme facials there is a element of risk to infection and complications,  so you have to ask your self are you prepared to take that risk before parting with any money.
We know one thing for sure we would not have any Vampire Facelifts would you?

Laser facial treatments

What  are Laser facial treatments

Today we are looking at  Laser facial treatmentsLaser facial treatments

There are lots of different extreme non surgical facial treatments, we have already looked at chemical peels and today we are going look at Laser facial treatments. So what are laser facials and how do they work?
Laser treatments  basically resurface the skin there are two forms of laser resurfacing. The the first type of laser resurfacing creates a uniform injury to your skin, similar to deeper chemical peel or dermabrasion,  the second type drills tiny holes into deeper layers of your skin, this is called “fractional resurfacing.”
Many surgeons feel the first type of laser treatment gives greater control for the depth of injury than seen with dermabrasion or chemical peel. In fractional resurfacing, the majority of the skin surface is not injured. Your skin then tightens by connecting the dots, where your collagen contracts between the tiny laser holes. The benefit of fractional treatment is less surface injury. The risk is that there is a greater depth of injury. If there is a complication healing, there is a risk of undesirable scar.
Like the other resurfacing methods, the laser is effective in treating wrinkles, blotchiness or age spots, and scars from acne or other causes. It can be used on the entire face or specific areas. Certain other characteristics of your skin, such as its thickness and texture, may influence whether you are a good candidate for laser resurfacing. Some patients may benefit from the laser’s mild tightening effect on the skin,  this is particularly in the lower eyelid area where the skin often becomes loose as a result of ageing, as with any of this type of treatment there  is always an element of risk involved. Skin resurfacing procedures are generally safe when performed by an experienced qualified  plastic surgeon or therapist.
Here are some of the possible risks:
  • If you are prone to skin disorders, including allergic reactions or herpes (cold sores), skin resurfacing can cause eruptions of these conditions.
  • Tiny whiteheads may develop on the skin following some procedures. These usually disappear with use of a mildly abrasive cleanser, but occasionally  they may have to be removed by a professional.
  • Some individuals have a tendency to form raised or thickened scars.
  • But in rare cases some degree of scarring may be permanent.
  • Following all resurfacing treatments, it is important that you avoid direct or indirect exposure to the sun until all the redness or pinkness of your skin has subsided
With any of these types of treatments make sure you use reputable company, before having the treatment.
And this concludes our look at Laser facial treatments.

What are chemical peels?

Today we are looking at What are chemical peels?

What are chemical peels? and do they make a difference

What are chemical peels? And why would you want one we are going to be looking at what chemical peels are and what you can expect from having one.

What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel involves the application of toxic chemical solutions to the skin in a controlled manner, this produces controlled tissue death.  As the damage is repaired by the natural healing process, the skin’s appearance is improved, how much damage occurs is determined by the nature of the chemicals applied to the skin and what skin condition the peel is treating.
There are lots of different types of skin peels and you need to search this before to make sure you are going to get the maximum benefit from the chemical skin. Chemical peels  are categorized as superficial, medium, and deep. Superficial peels do not damage skin below the epidermis, the most superficial skin layer. Medium peels may reach to the superficial layer of the dermis, which is  the deeper layer of the skin. Deep peels generally reach the deeper layers of the dermis. The depth of damage depends on the nature and concentration of the chemicals in the peeling solution and the length of time they are permitted to interact with the skin. Popular chemicals in peeling solutions include alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids, trichloroacetic acid, and phenol.
What you can and  and cannot expect to get out of a chemical peel
As with anything it is important to know what’s possible so you can keep your expectations realistic and spare yourself  any disappointment. Chemical peels in any form cannot remove or reduce the appearance of blood vessels on the skin, they cannot change the appearance of enlarged pores, they do not have an effect on keloidal (raised) scarring, they do not work as a face-lift, and they have limited benefit for improving skin discolouration for those with darker skin colour it is best avoided. They can make skin smoother, help fade brown spots and an even out uneven skin tone from sun damage, and generally make skin’s surface look fresher and younger. Having peels done on a regular basis (say, every 6-8 weeks) will lead to collagen stimulation that improves the appearance of wrinkles.
Because this is a harsh treatment on the skin you need to consider the drawbacks with peels, but this is largely dependent on the type and depth of peel. Superficial peels have few associated risks but also offer less noticeable results. Some redness, swelling, and increased skin sensitivity can occur with superficial peels. You may also experience a period of intense flaking as the old, damaged skin is replaced by fresh, smooth new skin.
When significant results are desired, complications increase dramatically . Medium and deep peel complications can include scarring, infection, temporary or permanent changes in skin colour (this is especially true for deeper peels), and cold sore breakouts for  especially if you prone to them. For these reasons, many cosmetic dermatologists are forgoing deeper peels in favor of what can be accomplished more safely with light-emitting and laser devices, you may want to consider one of theses options first and risks are less.
We hope you have a better under standing of What are chemical peels?

Makeup Mistakes

Yesterday we covered  What you should do with makeup today we are looking at Makeup Mistakes

With so many don’ts out there we are just looking at some of the most important Makeup Mistakes

We are all guilty of Makeup Mistakes but what exactly are they?We are going to tell you some of the most common and a few not so common mistakes.

Makeup MistakesDON’T wear full makeup every day. It’s not  necessary why not consider a simpler look for your day to day  life. Some people can not live with out  foundation, concealer, lipstick, blush, eyebrow shapers, and mascara is plenty and even though that sounds a lot tuts fine its when you start adding thick eyeliner and eyeshadow  and although it’s  great, it’s also time consuming, and  looks bad if you try to put it on quickly and rushed in  the few minutes you have in the morning. Apart from the fact if you simplify  the shadow and liner you’ll look stunning when you go out in the evening.
Don’t  use a concealer that is too light or too dark. Using the wrong colour concealer will make your eye area look strange. Use a flesh-tone concealer that is just a shade or two lighter than your foundation. If you have dark circles try using  a foundation that has concealer for dark circles in it that way it won’t look too cake around the eyes.
Pick your lip colour carefully –  Red lips can make a beautiful, and dramatic statement just  make sure you keep it on the brighter side, as opposed to magenta, purple, or brown. as these colours can be to harsh depending on your skin tone.
Don’t  go over board with the mascara s it can look clumpy and messy looking 2 coats is more then enough, when applied correctly.
Never stripe on blusher, use a good  blusher  brush, and a  soft colour, and apply it using light, sweeping strokes. You should see no lines where the blush stops and starts.
There are lots ore  Makeup Mistakes but we will cover those another time

The best exfoliant for you

Which is The best exfoliant for you

How to choose The best exfoliant for you

We have looked at the importance of exfoliating but which is  The best exfoliant for you.The best exfoliant for you
There are two kinds of exfoliation, manual and chemical,  manual exfoliation involves using an abrasive scrub or a skin brush to get rid of dead cells, while chemical exfoliation occurs when you apply a product that contains ingredients that dissolve those dead skin cells without scrubbing.
Exfoliators lift up and get rid of dead skin cells that can clog pores and leave skin looking dull. Getting rid of dead cells encourages cell renewal, which helps the skin to absorb products like moisturisers and anti aging serums.
Here are 3 types of exfoliants you can use-
Scrubs: These products contain grainy particles that physically remove dead skin cells as you move the product around your face. These can range from large grains (salt or sugar scrubs) to a very fine texture you can barely feel (very fine grains of ground rice). Some products contain gentle exfoliating beads.
Chemicals: These exfoliants contain alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) which are substances found in fruit these loosen and dissolve the dead skin cells rather than scrub them away, they target deeper layers of skin by sinking into it which scrubs don’t do as they  focus on the surface cells only.
Enzymes: These products dissolve the dead skin cells without any scrubbing, making them suitable for anyone with sensitive skin or rosacea. Look for products that contain papaya or pineapple.
So for different skin types there are different exfoliants just like with cleansers, toners and moisturisers.
Oily skin types- Go for a scrub, which also helps remove oil, dirt, makeup and other debris that can further clogged pores.
Dry skin types-  A chemical exfoliator will help firm and tighten the skin and minimise fine lines and wrinkles.
Sensitive skin types-  Try an enzyme exfoliator, which dissolves dead skin without scrubbing.
You should exfoliate at least once a week and can exfoliate up to 3 times a week if you do not have sensitive skin, always remember to be gentle especially when using a scrub and discontinue use of the product if you have any reaction to it.
So there we go, hopefully you now know which The best exfoliant for you is.

Make up tips you should do

There are lots of do not make up tips now here’s some Make up tips you should do

If you are sometimes unsure amount whats right and what’s wrong when applying make up here are some Make up tips you should do

We quite often put different do  and no not make tips on here but this are some of the  important Make up tips you should do to get the best look.  It does,t matter what make up skills you have  every one  can achieve a gorgeous look without wasting your money or harming your skin!
When wearing foundation  make sure that it  matches your skin tone exactly. The best way to do this is to try on a foundation in  a department store before you buy it. Drugstore are often brilliant, but you can’t always find the correct testers for your skin tone, and trying to make do with the wrong colour will just end up making your skin look a funny colour. Don’t forget to apply the foundation from  your neck up don’t forget to blend your neck and jaw lie into each other before working your way up the face.
Apply foundation on your eyelids up to the brow.  When you apply foundation on your eyelids you are creating a smooth surface for the eyeshadow  if you use an anti redness foundation this will  remove any redness around your eyes, giving your entire face an even and smooth appearance.
When using complementary makeup colours, You should think of your blush and lipstick as an outfit you’re going to wear on your face,  you should make sure your blush is in a similar colour family.  As you are unlikely to  wear a pink skirt and an orange top, so don’t wear those colours together when  it comes to blush and lip stick either as it clashes. Unless you want draw attention to yourself.
When applying eyeliner draw it  as close to the lash line as possible.  Use a soft black, grey, or charcoal brown shades theses colours will  enhance your lashes and frame your eyes. Be sure to get the liner between the lashes; it’s helpful to use a magnifying mirror to be sure you place it exactly. If the outer corners of your eyelids have begun to droop, make sure the eyeliner turns up ever-so-slightly, so you don’t emphasize any drooping. When applying  liner on  the lower lash line,  it’s best to use a softer colour than you do for the upper lash line. Lining all the way around your eye in black is an extreme look particularly if you line the inner rim this look is best saved for nighttime.
Eyeshadow is all about enhancing your eye area, not colouring it in . It’s best not to use eyeshadow colours that match your eye colour  you need to be careful for example not all blue eyeshadows  make blue eyes look better, it can  just end up looking  out of date and overdone, which is why you rarely see examples of this in fashion magazines.  Now a days there is every colour of the rainbow in hundreds of different shades so don’t be shy to experiment,  just don’t get to carried  away keep it simple and you will  achieve  glamorous, elegant, and classic looks.
Lastly but by no means least check your makeup in a magnifying mirror. Remember what you can’t see, you can’t fix; and nothings worst than be out for evening and suddenly seeing how badly you applied your make up.Any mirror of 4X magnification or greater (depending on your eyesight, of course) will do the trick, and these mirrors are widely available.
We hope  our Make up tips you should do have  helped an until next time have a great Easter

Is exfoliating important

Lets have a look at Is exfoliating important

Is exfoliating important what do you think

The question today is, Is exfoliating important? the simple answer is yes it is and we are going to explain why. As we age our skin’s natural ability to generate and shed skin cells slows down.  By exfoliating weekly you can overcome this. Without exfoliating dead skin cells and excess oil can build up which can cause your pores to clog. Exfoliation is the key to help you achieve optimal tone and radiance.  When you gently exfoliate your face it will stimulate the outer dermal layers which will then regenerate more quickly and you will instantly have a smoother more even-toned complexion.
Exfoliating will not only make your makeup go on better it also can give you a closer shave.  By exfoliating your body before using fake tans or having a spray tan you will get a more even tan.
Exfoliating properly also helps the anti-aging and hydrating ingredients in skincare products penetrate more deeply, making them more effective and exfoliating your skin will help it not look dull or dry as you are removing the dead skin that causes the skin to appear this way.
Don’t forget your lips when exfoliating as dry, flaky, chapped lips are the worst canvas for lipstick, you can do this by applying lip balm to your lips and then using a toothbrush or clean mascara wand to scrub your lips but don’t be too rough.   To finish off use a tissue to wipe away excess flakes and then you will have the perfect pout in no time.
So Is exfoliating important, yes would definitely be the answer, so get exfoliating.

Why our skin sags?

There are lots of reasons  Why our skin sags?

Today we are going to take a look at some of the reasons Why our skin sags?

We get asked all the time by our clients  what causes the skin to sag so we decided to look at some of the reasons Why our skin sags? Skin that has lost its elasticity isn't the result of just one cause. Several factors are likely responsible for making your once supple skin appear tired and droopy. The most common cause of sagging skin is ageing. Because as  you age, your skin loses collagen and elastin,  which is your skin's supportive connective tissue, that make it look soft, plump and youthful. In addition, facial muscles can weaken with age, not to forget the descending bones beneath the muscle. Getting older means more exposure to the dreaded pull of gravity; which we know causes skin to sag a little further down with each passing day.
But what causes all these things to happen well? Sun exposure is one reason for your  skin losing its elasticity, the sun's powerful rays damage skin cells which, over time, this can increase the effects of ageing so unfortunately its bit of a  a double-edged sword  as all that ultraviolet radiation you soaked up while getting the perfect tan was also breaking down your collagen and elastin, which can lead to saggy skin and wrinkles.
But lets  not  forget, weight loss, especially the loss of large amounts of weight over a short period of time, this  can cause skin to sag.  So when you are choosing to have a  surgery to remove fat or gastric bands  to force your stomach to shrink you might want to remember this you may be  stuck with skin and tissue too stretched out to snap back . People who lose a lot of weight quickly with diet and  very little exercise may be disappointed by the amount of skin that is left sagging after all their hard work and discipline.
Unfortunately if your concerns are to do with skin on your face  as well as skin and muscle researchers have found that, not all  face lifts  work out as they should,  so they  started looking into what happens to the bones they grouped the scans according to age — young, middle age, and 65 and older— and took careful measurements of the various dimensions of the face, a pattern emerged: It's not just skin that droops with age,  but  the facial bones shift and wither with time too age. They saw changes  in the bones  around the eyes, cheek area and  jaw, if you think about it this makes sense as people age, the eyes appear hollow, deep-set  this is because  the cheek bones right beneath the eye socket descend back in, as a result, they don't give as much support to the lower eyelid.
The same  is true of the jawline  if  you think about the aged face, there's sort of a lack of definition in the jaw line, the jawbone becomes  thinner, the chin recedes. It don't matter how healthy you are how much milk you drink you are always going to get some bone loss but obviously less than someone who doesn't bother to  look after themselves.
But  after we researched all this we have decide that before you  spend money on a face lift (that you should do the masking  tape test  to see what you will look like) no seriously don't just jump into  surgery  make sure you research it  as to whether its going to be worth the money and pain in the end.
We hope our blog on Why our skin sags? has shed son light on the ageing process.

Is spray tan safe in pregnancy

Today we are looking at Is spray tan safe in pregnancy

Is spray tan safe in pregnancy

Is spray tan safe in pregnancy, this is debatable

So Is spray tan safe in pregnancy, we have found this is debatable but are going to tell you what we found and let you make your own mind up.
We will start with the facts on spray tan in pregnancy.  Any fake tans can occasionally cause allergic reactions, you may not have had a reaction to fake tan while not pregnant but your skin can become more sensitive in pregnancy, this is due to the hormone levels changing. We advise you to have a small patch test to see if you are allergic to the ingredients, this is important even if you have had spray tans or used the product before you became pregnant.  Also make sure the room is well aired when having the spray tan.  Some women find that during pregnancy the smell is too overbearing due to increased hormones in their system and stay clear of these types of products anyway.
The dihydroxyacetone (DHA) and erythrulose that is in fake tans won’t harm your baby if you use them as a mousse, cream or wipe.  DHA and erythrulose don’t go beyond the top cell layer when rubbed in, this means they are not absorbed into your body. As your skin renews itself, the fake tan fades as the skins cells are shed.
It is however not known if spray tans or spray tan booths are safe for you and your baby as you will be inhaling the DHA or erythrulose.  The risks have not been scientifically tested but the sugar and mineral based ingredients are an indication that there are little or no risks involved.
So there we go, Is spray tan safe in pregnancy, we personally think that if you are over the 12 week mark then you should be fine but it is at the end of the day your decision to make.
