Makeup mistakes

You would be surprised at how many Makeup mistakes there are!

Today we are going to tell yo u a few more Makeup mistakes

Today we thought we would tell you a few more Makeup mistakes and why you should stop doing them;
  •  If you thickly line your bottom lash line.  Stop as you are placing too much emphasis on your lower lash line which will drag your eyes down, making your eyes look smaller and making you look older. Outlining your entire eye in black liner should be reserved for smoky eye looks at night. Not to mention you can end up looking look a sad racoon if your makeup smudges.
  • Don’t  wear  your blush too low. Wearing blush below your nose visually drags your cheeks down, making you look older and your cheeks saggier. Imagine a line below the end of your nose that connects to the end of your ears and try to keep blush above it.
  • Overlining your lips to make them appear larger. Does not  look natural. If you want the appearance of fuller lips, rather use light-reflecting glosses,   or nude shades  you can even use a concealer to lightly go round the out side of your lips and gentle dab in this will give you a subtle 3d effect.
  • Stop. using wedge sponges to apply your foundation. These soak up your foundation and hold bacteria.
  •  If you must use a bronzer, use a fluffy brush to lightly dust to contour areas such as under the cheekbones, at temples and hairline. Not all over your face this just makes you look like you have a weird tan.
  • If you find your shadow never looks as blended and professional as you’d like its probably because you don’t have the right tools. You cannot use one eye shadow brush for everything.  At the very least, you need a fluffy crease brush and a flat shader brush.  You won’t expect a painter to produce a work of art with rubbish brushes the same is to be said when applying makeup you need decent brushes  to get the best result. So throw away the sponge applicator and go buy a couple of good brushes.
We find new  and common Makeup mistakes all the time so expect this won’t be the last ones we put on here.

The next big thing?

Is this new facial The next big thing? The next big thing?

Well let’s see if you think this is The next big thing?

Could this facial be the The next big thing?, well we are not so sure, take a look and let us know what you think.
We can’t really believe we are writing a blog on this but couldn’t resist sharing what we came across today.  Apparently the next big facial to hit the salons is in fact not on your face at all, it is a vigina facial.  Well we did say we couldn’t quite believe it.
It has become known as the vajaycial by the New York Times.  It has yet to take off there and we are not so sure it actually will.
The vajaycial is a scrub and cleaning of the pores and skin that surround a woman’s nether regions. Believe it or not the vagina facial is not necessarily a new concept, but in recent days, it has gained steam thanks to the famous J Sisters in Manhatten, who are waxers to the stars, they made a name for themselves with the Brazilian wax.
It’s one thing keeping your private parts clean and hair free but maybe a little too far to be going to a salon for a full on facial down there.
Another unbelievable thing we have found about vigina’s is that apparently according to two men that have now come up with a pill for it, vigina’s smell.
The two men have started other companies in the past and then launched this line of probiotics  pills that many take to bolster their immune system and stave off yeast and these include a Sweet Peach line. Like other probiotics, this is designed to prevent yeast infections and UTIs, but has the bonus of also making the vigina smell fruity.
It could just be an added bonus if thats what you like but would women actually take them for that reason, we feel its a step too far really and not really necessary but what do you think?  Maybe we should invent a pill for men to take to make their bottoms smell of fruit.
So could these two strange things be The next big thing?, we’re not so sure about that.

Could your skin be dehydrated?

Could your skin be dehydrated?

So Could your skin be dehydrated?Could your skin be dehydrated?

In today’s blog we are looking at Could your skin be dehydrated?

So Could your skin be dehydrated?  take a look at our blog and you should find the answer to this.
A lot of people mistake dehydrated skin for dry skin which is lacking in oil  but while dry skin is a common skin type, dehydrated skin can actually occur in all skin types. It is a skin condition that is caused by a lack of water, not oil and this means that even the oiliest skin types can suffer from it .Dehydrated skin is becoming one of the most common skin complaints discussed in beauty salons. The modern phenomenon of stripping skin with harsh acne treatments, over exfoliating and using treatments like chemical peels has literally drained the moisture out of many people’s skin.
If you have Dehydrated skin it will look lifeless and grey and may be subject to fine lines and wrinkles even in the younger person. Dry, scaly patches may also be present and in severe cases, peeling and dermatitis. Oily skin types may have a thick greasy sheen as the skin goes into panic mode and overcompensates by producing more and more oil. This can be even more problematic as the excess oil can block pores and cause acne, from small closed blackheads right up to infected cysts with the potential to scar.
The best way to prevent the problem or rectify it if you are already suffering is to rehydrate the skin. In dry to normal skin types a rich hydrating moisturiser should do the trick within a few weeks.
If you have oily skin things can be more tricky. To avoid blocking pores and making the situation worse, you need to look for an oil free moisturiser.
Drinking plenty of water, avoiding excessive alcohol intake and protecting your skin from severe weather conditions will help to prevent dehydrated skin.
So Could your skin be dehydrated? what do you think after reading our blog.

Christmas party makeup

Christmas party makeup

The best ideas for Christmas party makeup

As we now approach the festive season here are some tips on Christmas party makeup

Its time for some Christmas party makeup ideas as we move into the festive season.Christmas party makeup
You can make yourself sparkle this christmas by sweeping a glittering powder over your cheekbones, below your brow bone and on the inner corner of your eyes. If your skin is light then use a pink-based highlighter, while medium to dark-skinned women should try golden tones.
Black liner swept across the top lid makes a bold yet elegant statement that needs very little else.  Use gel or liquid instead of pencil liner.  Close the eye and starting at the inner corner, move the line outward and wing it slightly at the end. If you have trouble holding your hand steady, create little dashes along the lash line and go back and connect them. Use a neutral pinky-beige colour on your eyelids.
Chocolate lipstick is great at christmas, don’t bother with the matte browns, use lipstick with mauve or reddish undertones.
When it comes to your blusher, try using two colours that compliment each other, use a lighter and darker blusher.  Start by applying the lighter shade and layer by then adding the darker one.
You can try a different method this christmas when applying your eyeshadow. Use a basic grey eyeshadow and infuse it with flecks of gold purple and green.   You will end up with colour that is multi textured which will look great. Do make sure that you keep the eyeshadow between the lid and the crease as it can look too much if you go to the brow bone and you run the risk of it becoming more 80’s than now!
So there you go some great tips for that all important Christmas party makeup.

Fiber mascara verus strip lashes

Today we are looking at Fiber mascara verus strip lashes

Fiber mascara verus strip lashes which ones of you think are better

Fiber mascara verus strip lashes -Mascaras and falsies are the ultimate beauty product they  can transform your entire face in minutes. And with the introduction of eyelash fibers in the past decade, we have even more options for getting ling  lush, full lashes. But don’t put away your falsies just yet! Fiber mascara  and falsies each serve a different purpose, and each come with its own set of pros and cons.  which why decided to have a look at  them together.

False lashes

Pro’s of  false lashes have  you ever notice how mascara commercials always tout new formulas that can give you the fake eyelash look? That’s because there’s nothing that can beat the fuller, longer, thicker results you get using false lashes. False eyelashes are easy to apply once you get the hang of it, many brands come with  a self-adhesive  so need to buy glue separately, they’re affordable and reusable, with a variety of options that let you change up your look as often as you change your makeup. Choose individual lashes for a more natural look or choose coloured falsies that make your eyes pop.
Con’s  of false lashes. Eyelash glue is messy, if you have sensitive eyes, adhesives could cause an adverse reaction or infection, which is why you should always test a dot of the glue near your eyebrow before applying false lashes . Another downfall is that, while fake lashes look super dramatic, they can also look conspicuously fake, especially if one happens to fall out of place. Of course, big and proudly false could be the look you’re going for! Remove lashes carefully, loosening the adhesive before pulling off,  this will  help prevent you pulling out your real eye lashes.
Fibre Mascara
Pro’s of fibre mascara.  Lash fibers are the next best thing to naturally long and voluminous lashes. Not only do they look natural, but they’re easier to apply than false lashes. Fiber mascara, come in a tube with a wand that allows you to apply them directly to your lashes. The synthetic fibers attach to lash tips, elongating your natural hairs and bulking up the spaces in between for volume.  Fibre mascara  allows you to apply and wash off every day.
Con’s of fibre mascara. Lash fibers are very thin and can flake off easily, which means you could get  an  eye infection if fibers  gets in your eye especially if you wear contacts. As the day goes on, fibers can also fall onto your face or eyeglasses, and assuming they’re coated with mascara, you could be battling stray streaks by evening. The sometimes tacky consistency might also make your top and bottom lashes stick together especially in the inner and outer corners.  They can also look quite spidery so don’t layer the mascara to thick.
There you have it Fiber mascara verus strip lashes

Exfoliation for different skin types

Exfoliation for different skin types

Today we are looking at Exfoliation for different skin types

Here is some advice on Exfoliation for different skin types exfoliation for different skin types

It’s not always easy to decide on what exfoliator to use so today we are looking into Exfoliation for different skin types.
Dry skin types- Since your skin produces less oil, your skin will suffer through the winter and Autumn months, this is why it is crucial to exfoliate once a week if you have dry skin. If your skin is extremely dry, you should not use heavy duty exfoliator as this can worsen your skin right away.  The best exfoliant for this skin type would be light-weight and gentle products.
Oily skin- You might think that your skin does not need exfoliating because your skin is oily but oily skin actually produces lots of dead skin and waste that might make you start breaking out! It is important to exfoliate at least twice a week with a gentle exfoliator. Not only that, you still need to moisturise your skin with lots of water based products just like dry skin!
Extremely sensitive skin-  If you have sensitive skin then it is important to use the gentlest product to exfoliate your skin. Since it is so sensitive, your skin can become irritated and create redness due to the cold weather. It is important to moisturise and use organic products ever so carefully so that your skin remains clean and flawless.
It is very important to exfoliate your skin all of the time, so don’t be tempted to be  lazy.  Keep your skin flawless and smooth every day and become confident with your skin. By using our guide you should now know a bit more about Exfoliation for different skin types.

Applying foundation and concealer 2

Today we are Applying foundation and concealer are doing Applying foundation and concealer 2

Applying foundation and concealer 2 is going to be covering bending and setting the foundation

Yesterday we covered basic and applying foundation and concealer in Applying foundation and concealer 2 we will be discussing blending and setting and retouching foundation and concealer
Blending
Most women are familiar with  the cardinal rule of makeup blending:  You  should also never stop applying foundation at your jaw line, unless you  want end up with the dreaded mask effect. For the most natural results, you should always blend your foundation all the way down your neck.
This beauty commandment, while it’s definitely crucial, but a clean, moisturized face is the key to successful blending. Primer doesn’t hurt, either, especially if you have very oily skin or heavy scarring. After your moisturizer, you’ll want to apply concealer under your eyes and on any blemishes you might have. All of this will even out your skin tone and make a smoother surface.
Foundation is what’s going to make or break the rest of your blending efforts. Your skin type and coverage needs will dictate your foundation choice, and it also has to match your skin tone perfectly — no amount of blending can fix things if you start off with the wrong color.
It’s important to apply your foundation correctly so the rest of your makeup can blend into it smoothly. Start in the middle and blend out, and apply it in thin layers so you don’t end up with that caked-on effect. You can always add more if you need to. The method of application depends on which kind of foundation you’re using and how much coverage you want.

Setting and retouching
The worst mistake you can make is to follow liquid foundation with powder foundation (heavy powder pressed into a compact with oil). This will merely look artificial when first applied, and will have slid down your face by the end of the day.
To finish, and for retouching during the day, use loose or pressed powder that is light-textured and contains no oil.  Mineral foundation is the best  choice as it it light Setting foundation with a powder is a must for oily skin; however, if your skin is dry or if you use solid foundation, your foundation will stay in place without powder.
Liquid foundation should never be applied over your makeup for retouching purposes, because it is impossible to blend well on top of powder, dust, or sebum. To diminish unwanted shine, use finishing powder instead. If you use powder foundation or cream-to-powder foundation, you may sparingly retouch with the same product. Blot any excess sebum with facial tissue or special blotting paper before you retouch.

We hope you have found Applying foundation and concealer 2 helpful when applying your foundation.

Applying foundation and concealer

Applying foundation and concealer looks simple but for it to look good there are some rules you should follow

Today’s blog is on Applying foundation and concealer

We all think that Applying foundation and concealer is quite straight forward , but intact it is harder than you think to get it right. In  fact  although  foundation can help to erase imperfections, it  can also look chalky and feel heavy. Here are some good guide lines when it comes to applying foundation.
Basic application
Foundation is perfect for evening out your skin tone, but it wasn’t designed to cover faults just to even out the skin tone. You can try applying a few thin layers of foundation to cover a blemish or lighten under-eye circles; But rather than apply thick layers leave these areas  foundation free rather use a  concealer to cover them  But remember that foundation used together with concealer will look especially heavy under the eyes.
To better understand how much concealer you need, and exactly where to place it, apply it on top of your foundation. If you use concealer without foundation, apply it on bare skin. Only colour-correcting green concealer should be applied under foundation.
For liquid foundation to be usable throughout its lifetime, always shake it well before application.
On dehydrated or dry skin, it is best to apply your  foundation before your moisturising cream  has completely into your skin, this  blends the  foundation and cream together. On well-hydrated normal skin, let your moisturiser be absorbed for at least a few minutes before applying foundation. On oily skin, apply foundation on clean skin, or replace moisturiser with a skin-care product that reduc
es sebum production.
Application steps
Apply foundation on the largest areas first—the forehead, the middle of the cheeks, and a small dot on the chin—blending outwards with your fingers.  you can also use a brush or sponge. Work in the direction of your facial fuzz growth, if you have any. Blend it off on the jaw line and hair line. Then apply a small amount of foundation in the middle of your face, on the nose, the lips, and the eyelids. Wait a minute until the foundation is absorbed, then apply more foundation on the areas that need better coverage. Alternatively, use concealer.
On the under-eye area, apply facial makeup with a finger or with a small synthetic brush or applicator. These tools are particularly useful for accessing the inner corners of your eyes. Pat with your fingertips to blend, using your ring finger or pinkie to minimise the pressure. Never sweep makeup, to avoid wiping it off or pulling delicate skin.
On blemishes, apply concealer in small spots with a finger or a synthetic applicator, then blend the edges with your fingertips. If you use concealer on oozing blemishes, squeeze it onto the back of your hand before applying to avoid contaminating your product.
We will be covering blending  and setting foundation tomorrow so look of Applying foundation and concealer part 2

Avoiding messy mascara

Avoiding messy mascara

The best ways to be Avoiding messy mascara

Here is how to make sure you are Avoiding messy mascara

Avoiding messy mascara is not always easy so we are going to give you some tips on how it is done.Avoiding messy mascara
The key to preventing mascara from bleeding is to start with the right formula. Waterproof mascara is a good place to start but sometimes it’s not water that causes your mascara to run, it can be the oils in your face. Look for a mascara that is smudge proof and budge proof. Experiment with different products to find the one that is right for you. Remember that more expensive does not necessarily mean that it’s better.
Primer will add an additional step in your makeup routine but it will be well worth the cost and time. Primer acts as a foundation to hold your mascara in place, reducing the chances bleeding and running. When you use primer, wait for it to dry before applying your mascara to get more staying power.
One of the biggest mistakes when applying mascara is not waiting between coats. Apply your first coat of mascara, wait for it to fully dry and then use a lash comb to separate your lashes before applying the next coat. You don’t need more than two coats as too many coats of mascara can be the cause of bleeding. Two coats will provide enough colour, length and volume without resulting in clumpy, messy lashes.
You can drastically reduce the chances your mascara will run or bleed by avoiding using it on your lower lashes. As your lower lashes are close to your skin, there’s a much greater chance of your skin’s oils causing your mascara to bleed under your eyes. Try applying your mascara to your upper lashes only, and see if you like the look. It might take some getting used to, but it looks more natural.
Its a good idea to pop some cotton buds, concealer and your mascara in your bag if you are worried about it bleeding so that you have a little emergency kit if it does happen while you are out and about.
We hope these tips on Avoiding messy mascara will come in useful to you.

More reasons you should be using mineral makeup

There are More reasons you should be using mineral makeup

More reasons you should be using mineral makeup

There are More reasons you should be using mineral makeup. One of them is the quality of the ingredients Mineral cosmetics have fewer ingredients. Most mineral makeup has a base ingredient of mica, which  is a form of talc but is not talc as in talc powder . Talc is technically a mineral and used by almost every cosmetic company as their number 1 ingredient, however it is a cheap and wasteful filler. Talc is soft and appealing to the touch yet it’s adherence to the skin is incomparable to the elite mineral, mica. Mica has incredible skin adhering properties and is less cakey then talc. Mineral formulations do vary from company to company, research the ingredients a company uses is very important because there are many companies on the market  that cheat and use  talc in their formulations. When you do find that perfect mineral foundation it’s almost impossible to go back to conventional makeup.
Another reason  you should switch to mineral makeup is not only is mineral makeup  long lasting on your shelf but also on your skin. The pigment lasts a long time and a little goes a long way. With mineral foundation, using very little can give a basic coverage. For extra coverage, after lightly applying the mineral base, women can use a more concentrated amount of foundation to conceal the areas that may need special attention. This makes mineral makeup last a lot longer on your skin.  This includes mineral eyeshadow which is quite new to the market remember less is more as mineral eyeshadow is highly pigmented  and you don’t want to over do the make up.
We hope you have found our blog on More reasons you should be using mineral makeup useful till next time have good day.

Reasons you should use mineral makeup

Reasons you should use mineral makeup

Here are some Reasons you should use mineral makeupReasons you should use mineral makeup

Reasons you should use mineral makeup is today’s topic for our blog

There are a few Reasons you should use mineral makeup and today we are going to explain what they are.
Mineral makeup binds to oils not water. This gives the makeup a natural water resistance and is much better for your skin than conventional cosmetics. Conventional makeup contains chemicals, oils and other additives that can either irritate sensitive skin or cause unnecessary breakouts.
Most of the cheaper foundations on the market have a list of ingredients that potentially harmful to your skin. Mineral makeup is safer as it adheres to the natural oils on your skin and doesn’t seep into the pores.
Makeup acts as a protecting agent against free radicals. Almost any barrier between your skin and the environment is good (other than dirt), so long as it’s still letting your skin breathe, which most makeup doesn’t. Mineral foundation allows your skin to breathe while still offering protection. This is because titanium dioxide is used in most mineral products, it’s also an excellent SPF. You can’t beat a makeup that works with your natural body chemistry.
Mineral makeup  is much more versatile than other makeup when it is done right. You can mix the mineral foundation with water, moisturisers and creams to make a liquid foundation consistency if that’s what you like. You can use it as a concealer or use it as a light coverage. Loose powder mineral pigments can turn into anything you can think of. The loose powder pigments are what companies use to colour cosmetics. Nature’s Source carries these loose powder pigments with no additives, fillers, or dyes. It can be used as eye shadow, eyeliner, lip gloss, hair highlights, coloured mascara, nail polish, body shimmer, blusher etc. When working with the pure pigment it blends with almost anything.
A big plus when using mineral makeup is that most pure mineral makeup has a very long and stable shelf life. Its nice to be able to keep your makeup for a longer period of time without the worry that its going to expire and this is great if you don’t wear makeup every day as you won’t have to waste any.
We will be telling you about more Reasons you should use mineral makeup  in tomorrows blog.

Tighten sagging skin

There are no miracle ways to Tighten sagging skin

But with perseverance  and hard work you will be able Tighten sagging skin

To Tighten sagging skin is not just a a quick fix, and does  take  perseverance  but you will be able to improve the appearance of your skin by following  the below information:
If your skin is just beginning to lose tone,  you could try using a moisturiser as this is  a good first step in the search for younger-looking skin. Using a moisturisers that contain  other nutrients like vitamin A, vitamin C, alpha hydroxy acid or beta hydroxy acid may provide some visible tightening . Staying hydrated is another way to keep skin from having a dry, droopy appearance.  as well as taking antioxidant vitamin supplements  all these can also improve your skin’s overall health and condition.
When people first start to notice the signs of sagging skin or loose facial muscles they usually turn to  skin creams and lotions, and the use of specially designed facial muscle exercises. Skin firming beauty products can be found at most supermarkets, chemists, and retail stores. The creams contain chemicals and natural ingredients that  do help tone, tighten, and firm the skin resulting in a more youthful appearance. However, the effects of the product are not permanent and do little to help severely sagging skin.
Facial exercises, are targeted at strengthening the muscles that support the skin  and not just at tightening the top layers of skin. Through these exercises individuals can build up muscles so skin is held tighter to the face and sagging and wrinkles are reduced. The problem with this type of treatment is that the results usually take a long time to appear and the muscles can only be strengthened to a certain extent.
If these measures aren’t enough to solve your sagging skin, you may want to consult a dermatologist to see what other options may work for you.  you could consider  A laser resurfacing treatment that  are available and  you may find  a successful treatment, for your  including sagging skin. Infrared and radiofrequency treatments are another popular option. By heating the skin, these treatments restructure the damaged collagen, tightening skin and reducing wrinkles. Even though these kinds of treatments generally require more than one visit, the recovery time is short.
you could also opt fro derma  fillers which are comprised of a synthetic hyaluronic acid, this is injected just under the skin to tighten it. These last between 6-9 months.
And falling that if it really bothers you and you can a afford it there is always plastic surgery. Although that really is the last resort.
Today’s b;go doesn’t give you any fast fixes but hopefully its made the different ways  to Tighten sagging skin more insightful.

Why skin sags

Do you know Why skin sags

You may think you know Why skin sags

Today we are going to looking at Why skin sags as more than one reason. The most common causes of sagging skin is ageing. As you age, your skin loses the collagen and elastin,  which are your skin’s supportive connective tissue, this is what makes it look soft, plump and youthful. But thats not only reason our skin sags.  As we age our body changes shape  and  we actually become  smaller the muscles atrophy  through wear and tear particularly on the face after all you cant lift weight with your face  to help keep the muscles firm. The have found that the bone its self also changes  and recedes so all this coupled with age all leads to sagging skin. But is that the only reason our skin ages?
Unfortunately not as you don’t have be old to have saggy skin. Sun exposure is another reason that the  skin loses  its elasticity. The sun’s powerful rays damage skin cells and, over time, this can increase the effects of ageing. So when  you are  soaking  up the suns rays  getting the perfect tan, you are also breaking down your collagen and elastin, which can lead to saggy skin and wrinkles.
Other causes of saggy skin is with extreme weight loss,if you lose large amounts of weight over a short period of time, can cause skin to sag. which can be very frustrating after all your hard work.
Smoking also contributes to saggy skin , but therein culprit is gravity.Everyday  we walk, sit, and move around in an upright position  our skin is affected by gravity. After numerous years of fighting the natural downward pull our skin begins to give in and sag downward. The effects of this gravitational pull does not show up until we are well into our mature years but the weakening of the skin happens from the day we are born.
But all is not lost tomorrow we will be looking at different ways you can help prevent your skin from sagging.
We hope you have found todays blog on Why skin sags informative till next time .
