What causes dry skin

What causes dry skin or why is my skin dry?

We are going to look at What causes dry skin  in today’s blog

With this rubbish weather we have been having many of us have been suffering from dry skin but What causes dry skin.
Dry skin is not just a sign of a skin condition or disease, but is simply caused by harsh soaps, itchy clothing, misusing moisturiser, and long, hot showers.medications you take can also be a culprit not to forget the medical conditions of diabetes, psoriasis, hypothyroidism, and malnutrition – all of theses can also cause severe dry skin.
Our skin  is coated in a thin layer of natural lipids, or fatty substances. They keep in moisture, leaving the skin soft and supple.dry skin can be caused by something in the environment – or something you’re doing to your skin, this strips away the fatty oils, leaving your skin unprotected. Sometimes it can be something internal causing a skin condition such as the menopause, or a genetic predisposition is making your skin dry out.
Dry, itchy skin can appear anywhere, but is  most common on the arms, hands, lower legs and abdomen.  Dry skin is often felt more than it’s seen, but on some people it can be noticeable and make them feel self conscious about it,  for many black people, dry skin is  specially a  concern, since the flakes of skin can look grey.
If untreated, dry skin can sometimes lead to dermatitis  an  inflammation of the skin.  The good news is that just as most causes of dry skin are external, most cures for dry skin are external. With careful dry skincare, you can usually solve the problem.
We hope this helps you understand  What causes dry skin and puts your mind at rest.
